Intelligent design of interchanges for dynamic cities and sustainable mobility Type of event: Executive Roundtable Event date: 2010-06-18 Event time: 12:00 - 14:00 Venue: Restaurant ONE52 (Expatica Cafe) Speaker: Anne Leemans Between 2004 and 2007, Anne and her team at Fontana initiated and coordinated a research project, on behalf of YellowdesignFoundation and with the backing of UITP, Union Internationale des Transporteurs Publics (www.UITP.org), IBM, Clear Channel and Schréder as well as Public Transport operators and their authorities, also including the Cabinet for Equal Opportunities of the Brussels Region Government. The research was conducted in 6 European countries which ultimately led to the development of the SPIN-UP (Security Perception in Intermodal Stations for Urban Public transport) methodology. The SPIN-UP methodology changes the face of intermodal urban public transport stations as well as their immediate environments and actively promotes and supports sustainable urban mobility. It is currently applied in Scandinavia, Belgium , Portugal and other EU member states. Publications: different articles on SPIN-UP in: Conferences as a speaker/expert in 2009 & 2010: Bio Anne graduated in 1981 as an interpreter and started her career as a Spanish teacher in the Netherlands, while free-lancing as a translator and interpreter. In 1990 she joined an international design group and from 1991 managed their Brussels based design subsidiary. Between 1993 and 1996 she coordinated the design development process of Thalys, the first pan-European railway initiative. In 1999 she created Fontana identity and design specializing in the creation, development and implementation of visual identity and (corporate) branding programs on behalf of national and international organizations and brands. In 1997 she became a board member of the Belgian Institute for the Promotion of Industrial Design which in 2004 became YellowdesignFoundation. Since 2004 she has been the Secretary General to YdesignFoundation. Cost: members €50, non-members €55. |
