Learn how to write a text that gets noticed and read... and earn yourself some kudos along the way.

Which topics will be covered?

  1. What makes a good business writer?
  2. Learn to think clearly and write what you mean.
  3. Think like a reader: Write copy that gets read by making it more relevant and valuable to your audience.
  4. Identifying and fixing language/writing problems.
  5. What is international English? How do I write it?
  6. Editing and proofreading your own and other people's texts.

Within the work environment, non-native communicators/writers are often reminded of the fact that they are not mother-tongue speakers... which can be a really annoying!

The aim of this workshop is to help you find your own unique writing style and voice. We will also look at finding ways of dealing with the constraints of writing for an international audience. Capitalise on your strengths and weed out your writing weaknesses!

Join IABC Belgium's Programme Director/ Academic Outreach VP, Ilze Raath, for a hands-on workshop for non-native speakers look at practical tips on editing other people's writing!

Participants should submit two unedited texts they have written no later than 14 April 2009. E-mail your texts to Ilze Raath: ilze.raath@fortis.com.
